|Sponsor||Naval Warfare Development Command (Navy)|
The Chair continues to provide liaison and coordination support for NWDC leadership and staff at the Naval Postgraduate School. Examples in 2014 included advancing the NWDC distributed air wing concept through executing a year-long warfare innovation continuum, supporting visits by NWDC staff to attend NPS Warfare Innovation Workshops and seminars, working with NWDC Modeling and Simulation Department to advance specific research initiatives in modeling sensors with NPS MOVES Institute, and participating in meetings of the CNO's Rapid Innovation Cell. The Chair will continue to seek opportunities in 2015 to leverage other Navy commands' NPS research sponsorship to work in coordination in areas of interest to NWDC, with particular focus on innovation and tactical analysis.
Warfare Innovation and Continuum: The NWDC Chair is responsible for developing and delivering Warfare Innovation Workshops that focus on innovative Concept Generation and Concept Development for maritime operations. The Chair will continue to coordinate closely with NWDC leadership, the SECNAV- sponsored Consortium for Robotics and Unmanned Systems Education and Research (CRUSER) and the NPS Littoral Operations Center to facilitate several workshops and advance innovation education among NPS students. The September and March workshops will be integrated into the larger Warfare Innovation Continuum.
