Division | Graduate School of Engineering & Applied Science |
Department | Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering |
Investigator(s) | Ross, Isaac M. |
Sponsor | National Aeronautics & Space Administration - Langley Research Center (Other-Fed) |
Summary | This proposal is to provide engineering and technical support to the NASA Engineering and Safety Center, Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) Technical Fellow and the various activities of the Technical Discipline Team. The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Control and Optimization Laboratories possess unique capabilities for spacecraft GN&C engineering and technology. Membership of the NPS on the GN&C TDT will provide NESC with a new source of guidance, navigation, and control engineering support sharing its GN&C know-how and lessons learned with the NESC. This effort will also provide cutting-edge thesis research areas for space systems engineering and operations students at NPS, particularly to those officers whose career goals might be to become an astronaut. |
