Summary This research project, proposed to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), will deepen U.S. understanding of important international actors in the strategic realm and will examine Great Power Competition both directly, and indirectly, by deepening understanding of strategic partnerships related to it. This project seeks to conduct a strategic dialog with Pakistan to advance relations through direct engagement, create better understanding of changes to strategy and doctrine, and improve transparency. This project addresses a core area of national security interest for the US, and includes important maritime dimensions. This project will develop over a two-year period and will involve students where possible, through thesis writing and direct participation. All projects will culminate in final findings reports widely disseminated across the inter-agency (OPNAV, INDOPACOM, JS, OSD-P, State, DOE-NNSA, and of course DTRA), along with briefings at various stakeholder offices.
