Summary |
The Acquisition Research Program (ARP) and Program Executive Officer, Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) are interested in innovative research that provides unclassified and non-proprietary findings suitable for publication in open scholarly literature that expand the body of knowledge and theory of processes, systems, or policies both inside and outside government. Acquisition Research Program (ARP) focuses on the research component of acquisition topics applicable to all career fields that are used to increase the knowledge of the Acquisition Workforce. Graduate students and faculty perform research for the ARP on acquisition topics provided by Navy sponsors (PEO IWS, DACM, SYSCOMs and PEO SHIPS) that give context to their academic curriculum and at the same time engages them in research on the acquisition challenges of the day. The ARP also hosts an annual acquisition research symposium to provide a forum for the presentation of scholarly acquisition research and dialogue between scholars, senior acquisition policymakers, students and practitioners. Research papers and presentations are given on recently completed and on-going DON/DoD sponsored projects conducted by researchers and students at NPS and a variety of research institutions. Through critical thinking and research on defense acquisition topics, ARP provides a major source of analytical capability for the DON/DoD. |
