Summary | We propose research to improve, extend and develop methods for achieving dependability in open architectures. The main problem is how to practically achieve dependability in software intensive systems with many possible configurations when the actual configuration of the system is subject to frequent and possibly rapid change, and the environment of typical reusable subsystems is variable and unpredictable. Since conventional testing techniques are not effective in this context, new approaches will be explored. |
