Summary | In pursuit of its vision to provide competitive advantage through analytic insight, AF/A9 has a requirement to acquire, process, store, analyze, and provide insight on large, growing, and constantly changing streams of data. However, their current analytic environment does not provide access to the open source tools commonly used to conduct analysis at scale, nor evolve at pace with industry. AF/A9 needs an analytic environment equipped with tools to allow its work force to process data at scale while conforming to required security and contracting protocols. This environment will enable AF/A9, and eventually the larger USAF analysis community, to exercise modern analytic methodologies for satisfaction of a diverse set of decision support demands. The Naval Postgraduate School Data Science and Analytics Group (DSAG) develop a cloud-based analytical environment for AF/A9 that supports the use of open-source tools for acquiring, processing, storing, and analyzing large, diverse, and constantly changing data streams. |
