Summary | Data Science has emerged as an area critical to the mission of the Navy and the Department of Defense because of the central role it plays in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, talent management, cyber-security, and logistics functional areas. NAVAIR desires to create a data-savvy workforce. To that end, leaders at NAVAIR partnered with the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) to provide the venue for the FY16 NAVAIR Data Challenge. NAVAIR desires to expand the relationship with NPS to encompass data science education activities. The NPS Modeling, Virtual Environments, and Simulation (MOVES) Institute and the NPS Center for Multi-Intelligence Studies (CMIS) are uniquely positioned to support NAVAIR with an interdisciplinary team approach to data science education. Deliver two one-day (8-hour) courses on “Introduction to Data Science” to the NAVAIR workforce. |
