Summary | This task provides government oversight, warfighter engagement, and execution of covert or "Contingency Communications" in Phase 2 of a 2-Phase effort to develop low visibility mission communications capabilities lo protect clandestine operators and information. Phase I engaged with Special Operations Forces (SOF) to conduct Trade Studies to assess and down-select hardware and software. A Preliminary Design Study was generated and reviewed, towards a covert communications solution. Contingency Communications Phase 2 will develop tools to manage attribution of communications, facilitate hardening hardware for local market communication systems, and define hardening of data to make the data more trusted without increasing the observable data signature. The intent is to reduce probability of intercept and probability of detection. Transition planning for rapid transition to Special Operations forces, USASOC in particular, will commence from the onset of the activity. |
