Summary | We propose to develop and field a team of multiple long endurance (24+ hours) gliders to demonstrate persistent ISR capability in 24 months from the start of the project. The key to success includes i) the energy harvesting technology that relies on solar and thermal energy to produce extremely long endurance flight; ii) distributed autonomous ISR algorithms that provide scalability and graceful degradation of performance should one or more of the gliders crash and iii) mobile mesh communication technology that enables distributed autonomy. |
