Summary | Often times, tactical units cannot rely on existing infrastructure due to network vulnerabilities or the lack of infrastructure. This research will provide the U.S. Navy with a secure tactical network. In addition, the ScanEagle autonomy will decrease the workload on the NSW operators and will allow for a force multiplier. Automating specific aspects of flight will decrease the workload of an operator by preventing them from doing them. Presently, one trained operator is required to fly one ScanEagle aircraft. Allowing an operator to control and monitor multiple ScanEalges will require less trained operators, thus allowing for a force multiplier. |
