Summary Organizational tacit and explicit knowledge is needed to ensure high performance. N1 has no formal process and is in the early stages of industry engagement regarding best practice. Extracting best practices from other organizations is limiting however, as knowledge needs are often very specific. And, knowledge conservation and re-use includes the technical, strategic, work performance and outputs of an organization. Recent research projects by this researcher have demonstrated the need for "organizational fit" (using the Congruence Model for analysis) and the deeper appreciation for the knowledge flows, knowledge power and knowledge work in organizations. In this research, the Congruence Model will be used for initial analysis or inputs, strategic plans, transformation of knowledge into work, and outputs of that work. The deliverable from that analysis is a set of "fit" and "mis-fit" dynamics, with prescriptions for improved organization structures, dynamics and internal work. In a knowledge managed organization the work produces outputs and knowledge about that output. In addition the technical vectors (vectors are part of the Congruence analysis) need to be operationalized to meet the needs of the present work force, and the oncoming personnel. The ability to track tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge and understand how each provides the needs of the organization is critical. Outputs from this work will be the analysis described above, prescriptions for change, a model of the improved organization and KM work as part of that organization, a technical report and a briefing.
