Back Investigation of the Effect of Detonation Convergence on Shaped Charged Jet Formation and Flow Stability

Summary Basic investigations to determine the governing mechanisms responsible for limiting coherent jet flow and the consequences of these mechanisms on the potential terminal ballistics of limits. Work is directed towards modifying classical shaped charge jetting theory to include effects of compression material flow and jet formation. The new slapper driven initiation mechanism is to be used as a workbench for studying the effects detonation convergence. Experiments are proposed to test assumptions and theory.
