Summary Healthcare simulation has become a growing and necessary part of the delivery of healthcare to the Military Health System (MHS). Simulation operators and managers rely on current and new developments in the field to keep their simulation sessions up to date. Research in the field of healthcare simulation is maturing; it has moved beyond simple satisfaction surveys to designed research programs that measure patient outcomes. Nevertheless, evidence for the effectiveness of simulation programs is slow in coming. The purpose of this program is to deliver quality education and studies in healthcare simulation specifically as it applies to patients and learners within the MHS. This education will produce more informed, efficient, effective workforce as well as accelerate the production of relevant and applicable research in the area of healthcare modeling and simulation.
