Summary | ACSIS (Army C4ISR and Simulation Initialization System) database is comprised of various data tiles, collectively supporting the Army's operational battle command and its training requirements. To facilitate a consistent and integrated software development process for the data products that utilize the ACSIS database, it is indispensable to provide a high-level conceptual data model of the ACSIS database. A well-designed conceptual data model will provide a clear and semantically-rich information of the data and their relationships stored in the database. With such conceptual data model for the ACSIS database, we cannot expect the developers to construct the data products correctly and effectively. The objective of this applied research project is to analyze the data requirements of the ACSIS database and produce a conceptual data model for it. |
