Summary The energy management system (EMS) developed in the past few years at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) controls the active and reactive power flow in distributed resources and loads. The goal of this project is to add the management of the energy harvested from the PV panels. A suitable power converter to interface the PV with the EMS will be designed to supplement the EMS energy coming from the battery bank. Also, since ultracapacitors were added during the first year of this project, their energy management will be analyzed and combined to the energy coming from the PV.
