Summary The desire for enhancing the lethality of underwater weapons for ASW, ASuW, torpedo countermeasure and mine neutralization applications requires warheads that utilize the newest technologies. The goal of this task is to demonstrate an ASW torpedo warhead concept with enhanced lethality as compared to a conventional bulk charge. This approach differs significantly from conventional bulk charge and shaped charge warheads. The Supra-Pressure Detonation Research offers the potential for development of warheads for lightweight, heavyweight and very lightweight weapons that will provide required lethality to maintain an advantage over future advanced threat scenarios.
