Attend and present refined versions of their papers to a diverse audience of Indian, civilian and military officials and non-government experts (as well as various U.S. government officials);
2. Facilitate a lively discussion about the causes of strategic instability in South Asia and the steps the Indian government and armed forces might consider to enhance regional stability;
3. Through the conference itself and related presentations at government offices, think tanks, universities, and media sites in India, initiate a process of ''institutionalizing" consideration of strategic stability concerns throughout the Indian establishment; and
4. Draw U. S. embassy officials into this discussion.
5. The due date for reports, findings, and results will be determined by the NNSA program officer and communicated to the NPS CCC directly.
