Transport Imaging and Luminescence Characterization of Triple Junction GaInP/GaAs/Ge) Solar Cells In

LCDR Ke Chi-wen, Taiwan Navy

Solar cell technique continues to grow in importance as an alternative energy source to reduce the consumption of fossil fuel. Solar energy is a natural, renewable and non-polluting power source which is beneficial for both commercial and military systems. High efficiency and low cost are critical in terms of developing solar cells. Multijunction solar cells by far have the best energy conversion efficiency among all solar cell devices. Transport imaging and luminescence characterization can help researchers and manufacturers to understand charge transport behavior at a microscopic level within a multijunction solar cell and therefore possibly increase energy conversion efficiency.
