Overview

Sean Kragelund completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in 2016. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University in 1995 and contributed to various commercial aircraft programs at Boeing before entering graduate school at the University of Washington (UW). At UW, Mr. Kragelund joined the Autonomous Flight Systems Laboratory and received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering (Robotics) in 2002. After graduation, Mr. Kragelund worked on several underwater vehicle projects at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Keyport Division before joining the NPS Center for Autonomous Vehicle Research in 2005. His research interests include optimal control and path planning for unmanned vehicle teams.
