Overview

Kathryn Aten earned her Ph.D. in Management at the University of Oregon and holds undergraduate and MBA degrees in international business. She is an Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Defense Management at the Naval Postgraduate School where she teaches business policy and strategy, managerial inquiry methods, and qualitative research methods.<br><br>Kathryn studies technology acceptance and adoption using primarily qualitative research methods. Her research explores how technologies influence individuals and organizations, focusing on organizational innovation, work, collaboration, and strategy.<br>Her teaching and work is grounded in her early career experience with innovative companies including, Apple Inc., Patagonia, and International Game Technology.
