Ultracold Rydberg Atoms
The January 24, 2020 Physics lecture is titled “Controlling State-Changing Collisions of Ultracold Rydberg Atoms” Charles I. Sukenik, Old Dominion University.
Charles I. Sukenik is Professor of Physics at Old Dominion University. Charles earned a B.A. inphysics from Cornell University in 1987 and a Ph.D. in physics from Yale University in 1993. Following post-doctoral appointments at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he joined the ODU faculty in 1997. He served as Chair of the Department from 2011 to 2017. His research specialization is experimental atomic, molecular and optical (AMO) physics and laser science with an emphasis on ultracold physics. Additional interests include laser-based remote sensing for oceanographic applications.
