2022 Fall Quarter Graduate Spotlight – Master Sgt. David C. Nass, U.S. Marine Corps

In his NPS thesis, “From Dropping Bombs to Blasting Bits,” U.S. Marine Corps Master Sgt. David C. Nass explores a tactical gap in the execution of #operations in the #information #environment. The exemplary research earned Nass the Fall Quarter’s Monterey Peninsula Council of the Navy League Lt. Cmdr. Tom Winant Award for Highest Academic Achievement, the highest academic award presented to a graduating student each quarter.

Nass, an upcoming graduate of NPS’ Applied Design for Innovation curriculum through the Department of Defense Analysis, conducted detailed analyses highlighting the importance of Joint Terminal Attack Controllers in theatre air-ground integration. He argues for a similar position in the information operations space, advising commanders on the information environment, and the #tactical #tools available to create desired effects.
