Certification Preparation and Examination Program (CPEP)

"Professional certification is an HR Community Value, critical to the performance and advancement of community officers."

This course offers an opportunity to prepare HR officers (1200, 1207, and 1205) for the very challenging Professional in Human Resources (PHR)/Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) exams. Students must have at least a master’s degree and 1 year of HR work experience or a bachelor’s degree and 2 years of HR work experience to qualify for this certification. Please refer to the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) webpage for additional details.

  • Delivery: 10 x 1.5-hour weekly, live, online sessions followed by a 4-day on-site course (study weekend) culminating in certification test.
  • Offerings: Offered 2 times/year, alternating between Millington and DC for on-site (typically May/June and December)

HRCOE pays for the contracted instruction, course materials and the exam fee. All students will need to request funding via their Chain of Command for TAD costs to the on-site course and exam.
