Contract Modification

Occasionally, it may become necessary to modify a contract to change one or more of the original terms. Reasons for modifying a contract could be, but are not limited to: adding or subtracting tasks or deliverables on the SOW, changing the period of performance, or adding incremental funding to the contract (if allowed by the contracting office).

Modifications will not normally require the internal approvals (chair/director and dean) if the modification is extending the period of performance. If the contractor is occupying government space, the department head should be notified that the occupant’s space is still required. However, the rest of the process must be completed.

Modifications must flow through the same process as contract requests.
