Alina Tureeva

Research Associate

Alina TureevaAs a Research Associate Alina Tureeva conducts research on ethnicand tribal dynamics in Afghanistan and security in Central and South Asia. In addition, Mrs. Tureeva manages the Program’s research proposals, finances, and contracts.

Prior to joining the Program for Culture and Conflict Studies, she coordinated the USAID-administered Community Connections program at the Foundation for Russian American Economic Cooperation.

Her research interests include political and economic development and human security in Central Asia.  She is a native speaker of Russian and has a working knowledge of Kazakh, Uzbek, and Karakalpak.

Mrs. Tureeva holds MA in International Policy Studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies with Specialization in International Development and BA in International Studies from the University of Oregon with Specialization in Development, Diplomacy, and International Relations.
