Background:
Mr.
Kenneth J. Allen was
drafted into the US
Army in 1970, and
served on active
duty as a combat
engineer. He
received a direct
commission to Second
Lieutenant while on
active duty as a Non
Commissioned
Officer. He served
in the US Army
(either active or
reserve) from August
1970 until his
retirement from the
Army Reserve in May
2002.
Mr. Allen became a
lawyer in 1976, and
served in the U.S.
Government as a
lawyer, both as an
Army judge advocate
(active duty
1976-1984, and
reserve 1984-2007),
and as a civil
servant (1984-2007).
In April 2007 he
retired from the US
Government, and
became the General
Counsel of
Engineering Systems
Solutions, and he
also joined the
adjunct faculty of
the Naval
Postgraduate School,
for whom he taught
while a civil
servant.
Mr. Allen has served
as a criminal
defense lawyer,
appellate
prosecutor, judges’
advisor, and labor
and contract
lawyer. His
assignments have
been in many
locations in the US
and in Germany. He
is a graduate of the
Brandeis School of
Law at the
University of
Louisville, the Army
Judge Advocate
General School, Army
Command and General
Staff College, Army
Management Staff
College, National
Defense University,
and the Army War
College.
