TDY/TAD VTE Sites and POC
Attendance at all classes is mandatory and vital to successful completion of the EMBA program.
For anyone traveling on TDY, the preferred attendance method is to dial into your class from the TDY site.
The directions for setting up a VTC (PDF) detailed on the linked document are the responsibility of the student on TAD/TDY.
Note: If VTC or phone conferencing are not available and the student misses class, the student can view the class online via video streaming as a last resort.
The Naval Postgraduate School Collaborative Learning Environment (CLE) is an interactive portal designed to support the learning and research activities of the Naval Postgraduate School and its strategic partners. It is built on the open source learning management system Sakai CLE.
- To access the CLE go to https://cle.nps.edu
- Log in using your standard NPS credentials
- If you are not able to log in, contact the Technology Assistance Center
Sakai has a support mailbox and more information on the intranet.
Python is the Educational Management System NPS uses to register students and courses.
You will use Python to view grades, submit Student Opinion Forms (SOF) after each course (required); update personal information (e.g., changes in rank, address changes, how you want your name on your diploma, etc.); and print unofficial transcripts.
Logging into Python
Please note: If you are using an NMCI machine, you probably will get an error message.
For computers not on NMCI there are several options for access. Help for these is found on on the NPS Remote and Intranet Access information page.
- connect via VPN (NPS network authentication required) with your PC
- connect via Citrix client with your Mac
- connect via browser-based Citrix client off campus (with limited Python functionality)
If connecting via Citrix, you will first be asked to log in to the server. Once this is done, you will see the Python Welcome Page. Click PYTHON USER LOGIN, and then enter your username and password again.
(Please ignore pop up message for now). (Please be patient specially if you have slower dial up connection, it might take a few moments to bring the remote application up on your screen.)
The username and password for Python are the same as your NPS network account.
If you have any problems logging into Citrix or Python, call the Technology Assistance Center here at NPS: 831-656-1046 (they have people ready to answer your questions).
