DON Civilian

DON Civilian (Curriculum 807)

The EMBA program is a 24-month, part-time, non-resident distance-learning program. Students attend class during normal work hours one day a week for 6-7 hours in their local area. The primary course delivery mode is two-way video and audio video teleconferencing. Because classes meet during work hours on Navy time, students must have the full support of their supervisor to be admitted into the program.

Students enter the program as a "cohort," taking all classes together and completing the program as a group. All students are required to attend a one-week orientation session at NPS the week prior to the first quarter of classes. A reading package, which is the required reading for the week at NPS, will be sent to all students prior to their travel. During that one-week orientation, students also take a two-credit course in "Managing Teams." Following this trip to Monterey, students return to their parent commands and all classes are delivered to the cohort group there. At least once each quarter NPS faculty meet with students face-to-face.
