Phillip A. Costain, Senior Lecturer
Phillip A. Costain, Senior Lecturer, is a 1962 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy. He received a Master's degree in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1971. Prior to his retirement from the U.S. Army he served in both command and staff assignments in combat arms as well as combat service support units, encompassing tours of duty in Vietnam and Europe. As a military operations research analyst, he served with the U.S. Army Combat Developments Experimentation Command and the U.S. Army Concepts Analysis Agency. In 1974 he graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. Professor Costain was a Senior Operations Research Analyst with the Scientific Support Services Company during a break from teaching in 1983-84. He originally joined the faculty in January 1979.
