Biography
Captain Doorey is a career Navy intelligence officer who has been assigned as the Senior Intelligence Officer at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California since June 2005.

His previous assignments include:

  • Assistant Deputy Director for Crisis Management, the Joint Staff, Directorate for Intelligence (J2);
  • Senior Intelligence Officer, USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70);
  • Chief of the Special Studies Group, Supreme Allied Commander, Atlantic/Commander-in-Chief U.S. Atlantic Command;
  • Senior Air Wing Intelligence Officer, Carrier Air Wing Seven (embarked aboard the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON during its shakedown cruise and maiden deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf);
  • Political-Military analyst assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency;
  • Plans and Targeting Officer, Directorate for Intelligence (J2), U.S. Southern Command, Quarry Heights, Panama;
  • Squadron Intelligence Officer, Attack Squadron 176 (embarked onboard the USS INDEPENDENCE (CV-62) for two Mediterranean deployments).

During his career, Captain Doorey has provided direct intelligence support to U.S. and Coalition Forces involved in operations in Lebanon, Grenada, El Salvador, Panama, Afghanistan, Iraq and the Global War on Terrorism.

Captain Doorey was awarded Masters’ degrees from the Naval War College in Newport, RI in National Security and Strategic Studies (2001-2002), and the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA. in National Security Affairs in both European and Western Hemisphere Studies (1985-1987). He attended the John M. Olin Institute for Strategic Studies at Harvard University as a Navy Federal Executive Fellow (1998-1999).
