Practical Comptrollership Course

The Practical Comptrollership Course is an intensive course in defense financial management under the sponsorship of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Financial Management and Comptroller). The course is part of the Department of the Navy Civilian Financial Management Career Program .  The Practical Comptrollership Course (PCC) is specifically designed for individuals (civilian and military) who are either incumbent or about to report to responsible positions in financial management at the major command, sub-command or shore activity level. The course content reaches across all disciplines involved in financial management and comptroller positions including:  planning, budgeting, budget execution, fiscal law, accounting, management of finances and cost drivers, and internal control.

The class is 8 full days in duration starting on a Tuesday morning and ending on the following Thursday. This permits travel on the first Monday and second Friday, avoiding the weekend. For the course schedule, please visit the Calendar page.

Activities should send nominations via the chain-of-command to the major command using the DD Form 1556, according to the instructions promulgated each year by FMB.  The nominating activity funds travel and per diem. The major claimant must endorse and send all nominations to the Financial Management Training Program office in Pensacola, FL.
