Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs

Can I bring family/guests?

Although spouses/guests over the age of 18 are permitted, it is strongly discouraged. The intense schedule permits very little personal time. Pets are not permitted and check-out time is 1100. If you choose to stay outside the NPS campus, you are responsible for making all arrangements. CEE will only reserve rooms in the Enclaves for participants.

CEE PresentersDoes the Naval Postgraduate School support NMCI?

Although NPS does not support NMCI, access can be gained using Web Outlook or by opening a VPN Client session on your NMCI laptop. All Enclave rooms have a LAN port next to the telephone port in each room for internet access, only certain rooms will allow access to NMCI with VPN Client. If you require this service, please include this in your course registration. Every effort will be made to place you in a suitable room.

When will I receive pre-reads and other course materials?

Pre-reads will be posted to the website and participants should check on a regular basis for additions. Occasionally, an unavoidable change in scheduling will occur and items will be posted with very little lead time. Participants will be notified with a high priority email.

Binders will be distributed on the first day of the course in the main classroom. All presentations received prior to the printing deadline will be found under the appropriate tabbed divider. Presentation materials received after the deadline will be distributed via classroom mailboxes. Participants will be given a box and mailing label on the last day of class to mail back any course materials.

Will there be evaluations for presenters?

Yes. The current method of collecting data to structure courses and sessions is by paper evaluation. All participants are required to complete a form for each presenter and at the end of the course. Results are tabulated and forwarded to presenters, sponsors and staff members to shape upcoming courses.

Why do I need to provide a personal biography with a photo?

A one-page biography with photo in Word format are required for all participants and presenters. The photo will be used to create a seating chart and the biographies are distributed to all class members as part of the networking process. *Bring your business cards for your contacts!

Monterey Bay Athletic Club/Fitness CenterWhat about the gym?

The Naval Postgraduate School has a terrific facility. Active duty members will need to show their valid military ID. DoD civilians will be charged a nominal fee. Campus running routes can be found in your Welcome Packet upon check-in.
