Citrix Access and Information

As of January 2007, remote access to the Student Daily Muster, Python, Matlab, and other applications is handled by the NPS Voyager Citrix Portal. This eliminates the need to publish links to individual applications, and helps centralize remote access tools for our customers.

Voyager allows you to securely access the NPS network from a remote location like home or business. Once you login, you will be presented with a list of available applications.
Click here to access the portal.

**Voyager requires the Citrix Presentation Server Client and the DOD Root Certs. See below for more info.

Macintosh Users Read This First
Macintosh users must perform a few extra steps before they can use the portal. These steps and some tips are located on the Voyager for Macintosh page, located here.

Citrix Presentation Server / XenApp  Client Download
Voyager supports a basic Java-based Citrix client that will work on most operating systems without any client to install. However, for reliability and performance we recommend you install the Citrix Presentation Server Web Client.

  • For Windows, click here and install the Presentation Server Web Client 10.2 (prefer the MSI installation file)
  • For all other operating systems click here to download the XenApp web client for your operating system

Department of Defense Root Certificate Install
If you are getting "SSL Error 61", then you don't have the DOD Root certs installed. Download and run this executable file (Windows only) to allow your web browser to permanently recognize DoD SSL certificates as valid. NOTE: installs certs for IE Web Browser only. Mac users click here.

This is my First Time Connecting, and I was Asked About Client File Security. What is this?
The first time you use the client to connect to a remote application, Citrix asks you if you want your local files available to the remote site. For most applications (especially like MatLab) the answer would be yes (pick "Full access" and "Never ask me again"). If the user was unsure they could always pick the "Always ask me" option.

How Do I Print to PDF?
In addition to printing on your local printer you can also print to and Adobe format PDF file. To do this when you print, choose CutePDF as the printer destination. You'll be prompted for a file name and location, which defaults to your H: drive, but also can be written to your local C: drive.

Citrix Connection Errors?
This error can be eliminated with a Win2k/XP Client Registry Fix - Download this file if you are getting a message about an expired, or a soon-to-expire license. Unzip the file and double click the .reg file to update your registry.
