Club Del Monte

Club Del Monte is an art deco jewel set amongst 25 acres of sprawling lawns dotted with oak, cypress and pine. Originally built in 1880 as the grand Hotel Del Monte, it was destroyed twice by fire and rebuilt. The present imposing structure (which is the 1926 incarnation) resembles a Spanish-Moorish fortress. It remained an elegant hotel until 1951, when it was acquired for the Navy's Naval Postgraduate School. As you can see, this facility's history is long and illustrious.

Located in the Historic Hotel Del Monte, Club Del Monte continues the tradition of excellence in one of the "Most Beautiful Place in the World." The Hotel Del Monte established a reputation as "The Most Elegant Seaside Resort in the World" and "America's Most Loved Resort" and living history paraded through its corridors as it notable notable guest list expanded including Presidents McKinley, Hayes, Harricon and Teddy Roosevelt; General William Tecumseh Sherman, Charles Lindbergh, Hawaiian Monarch King Kalakaua and England's Marquis of Queensberry.

The Club Del Monte staff continues our historical tradition of serving our customers great food in the elegant setting of the Historic Hotel Del Monte. Our Executive Chef, Hugh Butler, has worked at the world famous Greenbrier Hotel and Resort, Carmel Valley's Quail Lodge and the Pebble Beach Resort, as well as owning and operating two of his own successful restaurants. We buy the freshest fruits and vegetables from "America's Salad Bowl" in Salinas Valley and purchase the freshest seafood right from Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf, less than two miles away.
