The gold and blue ribbon whipped in the wind as the Naval Postgraduate School officially dedicated the newly renovated East and West wings of Herrmann Hall, the university’s administration building and part of the historic Hotel Del Monte, in a formal ceremony June 11. Cutting the ribbon to officially open the wings were (left to right) NPS Provost Leonard Ferrari; NPS President retired Vice Adm. Daniel Oliver; District Director for Representative Sam Farr, Alec Arago; City of Seaside Mayor Ralph Rubio; and City of Monterey Mayor Chuck Della Sala. The event capped a $31 million Navy project to structurally upgrade and historically preserve the late 19th century wings to provide 140 modern residential suites for international officer students attending NPS.
