Lt. Bryan Koehler speaks to Laurence L. Parme, a systems engineer at General Atomics, in Bullard Hall about the Systems Engineering Analysis (SEA) Capstone Integrated Project titled, Maritime Interdiction in Logistically Barren Environments, which was presented on June 5 in Glasgow Hall. After the final presentation the students met and spoke to anyone interested in more information in Bullard Hall. (Released)

Departing GSEAS Dean Reflects on School’s Development

An underwater robot pod, part of the Adaptive Sampling and Prediction network, is launched off the deck of a research vessel into Monterey Bay. This cold-water upwelling, oceanographic research was developed with the help of NPS’ Graduate School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and headed by a team of multidisciplinary investigators. The departing dean of GSEAS, Dr. James Kays, understood the importance of each department’s role in the development of the nation’s defense and established interdisciplinary focus areas to help articulate its strengths to the Navy. Wargame Explores Use of Counter-IED Systems

Vehicles much like the ones used in the simulated Wargames Analysis course (OA 4604) are hit by Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and destroyed. The goal of the wargames was to learn how to employ specific pieces of equipment and determine which policies would work best in different types of scenarios. (Released)

SECNAV Attends Spring 2008 Graduation

Secretary of the Navy Hon. Donald C. Winter was the keynote speaker for the Spring Quarter commencement program. Winter's message from the NPS podium provided inspiration and reason for the 200 graduates to stay the course in serving their country, after their next tour of duty. (Released)
