The CDC 1604 pictures show the installation and use of the Navy's first supercomputer, which was installed in 1960 by a team including Seymour Cray himself. "World's first all-solid-state computer -- Model 1, Serial No. 1 of Control Data Corporation's CDC1604 -- designed, built and personally certified in the lobby of Spanagel Hall by the legendary Seymour Cray." (Released)

This photo shows Caroline Miller, Manager of the User Registration and Accounting Office for the W. R. Church Computer Center, at work on the timesharing terminal that was hard-wired to the new IBM370 3033AP mainframe. Taken in 1981. (Released)

Every programmer on the staff of the W. R. Church Computer Center was assigned a 4-hour stint in the Consulting Office every week. Here, in 1986, Systems Programmer Alyce Austin is helping a student with his program. Note the voluminous "technical notes" and tutorials on the shelves -- these were handouts for students, written by staff. (Released)
