Planning Group Visions NPS’ Centennial Year Celebrations

The Naval Postgraduate School has formed a new committee to plan the historic centennial celebrations of the school’s founding that will be held during the 2009-2010 academic year. The new Centennial Planning Group is co-chaired by Dean of the Graduate School of Business and Public Policy Robert Beck, Professor of Computer Science Rudy Darken and Director of Alumni Relations Kari Miglaw. Its members recently gathered on Herrmann Hall’s balcony (left to right): Michael Herrera representing the Graduate School of Operational and Information Sciences; Todd Wyatt representing ITACS; Mike DiFranco representing Academic Affairs; Liza Rosa representing the Human Resources Office; Beny Neta representing the Graduate School of Engineering and Applied Sciences; Vicky Hoy representing the School for International Graduate Studies; Miglaw; retired Rear Adm. Merrill Ruck representing the NPS Foundation; Susan Heath representing the Graduate School of Business and Public Policy; Pete Charette representing Morale, Welfare and Recreation; John Sanders representing Institutional Advancement; and Alf Cooper, also representing the Graduate School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Members not pictured are Beck, Darken, Irene Berry representing the Dudley Knox Library and Gary Phillips representing Public Works. The committee will be adding student representation and putting a call for volunteers in the near future. (Released)
