Searching for Rare Books in the Library’s BOSUN Catalog

Open the BOSUN catalog on the Library’s website.
Click on Advanced Search above the search bar.
Enter your search terms in the fields provided. For instance, try entering “U.S. Navy” (without quotation marks) in the All field, or “Raleigh, Walter” in the Author field.
Use the Location drop-down menu to select Rare Books.
Click Search. The search results returned will be limited only to items in the Rare Book Collection.

To access these items, copy the call number(s) from the BOSUN record(s) into the Materials Requested box of the Researcher Registration Form. This will allow Library staff to pull the items in advance of your appointment time.
