| In the Dudley Knox Library, you will find - Computers equipped with applications for NPS research needs
- Group seating areas
- Comfortable reading areas
- Group study rooms(on the 2nd floor) called "collaboratories"" (group study rooms with plasma screens and projection equipment). Ask the staff at the Circulation Desk to reserve one of thse rooms.
- Photocopiers/ printers that can COPY, PRINT, SCAN and FAX.
- Wireless coverage throughout the building (Your laptop must be registered by the Information Technology & Communication Services (ITACS) to gain access to the NPS wireless network)
- Quiet study areas (on the 2nd floor)
| Find out what the library owns The library maintains catalog of its collection of books and other materials . In our library, the catalog is called "BOSUN". You can search BOSUN to locate books, electronic books, theses and journals we subscribe to in paper and electronic formats. Read more on the Find Out What We Have in the Library page. | Electronic Resources: Articles, Databases and eBooks - Recent research is often found in published journal articles. Our library owns many journals in electronic format, and in paper format, too. To locate an "eJournal" (electronic journal), look for the link on the library home page marked "find eJournals". Paper journals are listed in the library catalog, BOSUN.
- Databases helpful to International students In libraries, indexes to journals are called databases. This list includes links to those databases that Include translation services, multi-language Interfaces options or other useful features. Example: you can read your own country's newspapers in "digital replica" format using a database of newspapers called Library PressDisplay. (Look for the blue "Select Title" button to begin.)
- We own books in electronic format, too. These "eBooks" are listed in the library catalog, BOSUN. When available, links are provided in the BOSUN record, so you can simply click the link to read the eBook. For example, use BOSUN to search for a title such as Maturing usability. Note that the link to this eBook is located next to the words, "Electronic Access".
| Learn more about research - Take a Library Workshop (Free one-session library classes)
The library offers a variety of 50-minute one-time workshops (classes) throughout each quarter. These workshops are taught by reference librarians and are intended to help library users to become stronger searchers. Most workshops are held in room 151 on the library's first floor, just beyond the Research Assistance office. Read more on the Library Workshop Page.

- On-Site Computer Classes for Microsoft Office
NPS offers three hour sessions to learn Basic Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. (These are not given by the library.) Read more on the NPS Information Technology and Communications Services (ITACS) page.
| Interlibrary Loan Services - If you need materials our library does not own, we can borrow them for you from other libraries. Read more on the Interlibrary Loan page.
