The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) develops and promotes technical standards used in a wide variety
of information services. NISO is a nonprofit association accredited as a standards developer by the American
National Standards Institute.
National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Directives (Federation of American Scientists)
The National Reconnaissance Office designs, builds and operates the nation's reconnaissance satellites. NRO products,
provided to an expanding list of customers like the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Department of Defense
(DoD),
can warn of potential trouble spots around the world, help plan military operations, and monitor the environment.

The NSSN contains over 250,000 references to standards from more than 600 developers worldwide. These have been
grouped into six categories: Approved Industry Standards, Approved International Standards, Approved U.S. Government
Standards, Industry Standards Under Development, International Standards Under Development,
U.S. Government Standards Under Development.
