The following links are provided for research and information purposes only to be used by students, faculty and staff.
This page provides a quick list for links to resources of interest to Satellite Communications researchers at the Naval Postgraduate
School. In addition to this page you should consult the Library's other web pages, particularly other Subject Guides, including the
Astronautics & Space Systems page.
Strategies for searching these recommended resources vary, but keep in mind the use of Booleans/connectors (and, or, not),
the use of quotation marks around phrases, and the use of alternative terms and word forms, (e.g., jam, jammed, jamming, block,
blocked, blocking, disrupt, disrupt, disrupting), as well as truncation symbols (usually a *). Example: "satellite communication*"
or "communication satellite*" ; alternatively, satellite* AND communication* ; or just MILSATCOM.
The library's subject specialist for Astronautics & Space Systems is Jeff Rothal, who may be reached via NPS Outlook or the
Intranet phone book.

UCS Satellite Database This database from the Union of Concerned Scientists is a listing of operational satellites currently in orbit around the
Earth. The database includes basic information about more than 800 satellites and their orbits, but does not contain the detailed
information necessary to locate individual satellites. Users can find information about a particular satellite; identify sets
of satellites having a common characteristic, such as altitude or mission; and sort or aggregate data about the whole population
of satellites.
