Company Statistics (U.S. Census Bureau)
This company statistics division of the Census Bureau profiles U.S. businesses and reports statistical information on a number of topics including: the survey of business owners and The Statistics of U.S. Businesses (SUSB) program which provides business performance data by enterprise size, geographic area, and industry.
Hoover’s Online (Proquest):
Hoovers provides detailed information on public and private companies in the United States and internationally. It offers key company information such as company location and contact information, company history, financial data, products and brands, top competitors, top officers, and more. It also offers industry analyses and news sources.
North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)
NAICS is the Census Bureau’s system of reporting economic data by industry. The system was developed in cooperation with the statistical agencies of Canada and Mexico to establish a 3-country standard that allows for a high level of comparability in business statistics among the three countries.
