This National Agricultural Library database is an article citation database which covers journal articles, book chapters, short reports and reprints.



BioMed Central (BioMed Central)
This site provides free access to peer-reviewed biomedical research through over 100 journals. BioMed Central research articles can be browsed, downloaded and viewed without registering, but if you wish to search the BioMed Central site, you do need to register. Registration is free.



Chemical Toxicity: Aggregated Computational Toxicology Resource (ACToR) (United States Environmental Protection Agency)
"EPA's online warehouse of all publicly available chemical toxicity data...[C]an be used to find all publicly available data about potential chemical risks to human health and the environment. ACToR aggregates data from over 500 public sources on over 500,000 environmental chemicals.



CiteSeer Scientific Literature Digital Library ( )
CiteSeer is a scientific literature digital library that provides algorithms, techniques, and software that can be used in other digital libraries. CiteSeer indexes Postscript and PDF research articles on the Web.



Credo Reference (Credo Reference)
 
Credo Reference is a source that reference librarians and others use that compiles essential, factual information from specialized encyclopedias, dictionaries and other reference sources.  Credo Reference is written for the interested researcher, not the specialist. It's a great place to start your research.

ebrary (ebrary)
 

ebrary books are included as part of the library's collection, and may be accessed like other library electronic materials via a link in BOSUN.  Access the full-text of over 43,000 books. Create a personal bookshelf and highlight and take notes in the books. Coverage includes the subject areas of Business & Economics, Computers & IT, Education, Engineering & Technology, History & Political Science, Humanities, Interdisciplinary & Area Studies, Language, Literature & Linguistics, Law, International Relations & Public Policy, Life Sciences, Medical, Nursing & Allied Health, Physical Sciences, Psychology & Social Work, Religion, Philosophy & Classics, Sociology & Anthropology.

ebrary’s “reader” function is not supported under many browsers, including AOL's, MSN's, Netscape 6, Opera, and others, including ISP-branded browsers. ebrary works well without it. ebrary permits printing in 30 page increments up to 60 pages per user session. To print, right click on text, select "print" and indicate the pages needed.

This provides a distributed search capability of energy-related collections. Those collections include: various DOE databases, DTIC's Technical Reports Database, IBM Patents database, NASA CASI Technical Reports, PubSCIENCE as well as a number of subject specific databases.

High Wire Press (High Wire Press)
Stanford University develops and maintains the Web versions of important journals in biomedicine and other disciplines.



Household Products Database (National Library of Medicine)
This database links over 4,000 consumer brands to health effects from Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) provided by the manufacturers and allows scientists and consumers to research products based on chemical ingredients.



Knovel (Knovel)
 

Knovel ebooks are included as part of the library's collection, and may be accessed like other library electronic materials via a link in BOSUN.  Knovel offers interactive access to the full-text content of over 800 engineering and scientific handbooks and databases, and the ability to manipulate and search across this entire collection. ScienceDirect (Elsevier)
 
ScienceDirect offers journal articles and book chapters from more than 2,500 peer-reviewed journals and more than 11,000 books. To search only material available full-text to NPS, use the Advanced Search and choose Subscribed sources from the Source menu.

United States Patent and Trademark Office Patent Databases (United States Government)
