As a courtesy to all Library users and in response to concerns expressed about the increased noise in the Library due to cell
phone use, we ask that the following guidelines be observed:
- Please set cell phones to silent or vibrate mode prior to entering the Library.
- Cell phone conversations are to be restricted to the following designated areas of the Library:
- 1st Floor Lobby Area
- 1st Floor Large Group Study Area (near Restricted Resources)
- 1st Floor Media/Copier Room
- 1st and 2nd Floor Corridor Areas
- 2nd Floor Group Study Rooms
- Please keep conversations short and speak in a lowered voice.
All quiet study areas of the Library are CELL PHONE-FREE zones. Cell phones may not be used in the following areas:
- 1st & 2nd Floor Study Carrel Areas
- 1st Floor Periodicals Reading Room
- 1st Floor Vending Machine Area
- Electronic Resources Room
Please check with Circulation or Research Assistance staff for further clarification.
The Library reserves the right to ask patrons to leave the building if they are using cell phones in restricted areas or disturbing
others in any area of the Library.
