As a courtesy to all library users and in response to concerns expressed about the increased noise in the library due to cell phone use, we ask that whenever possible calls are taken outside. For short, unavoidable calls, please observe the following guidelines:

• Set cell phones to silent or vibrate prior to entering the library.
• Cell phone conversations are to be restricted to the following areas of the library:
  • 1st Floor Lobby Area
  • 1st Floor Large Group Study Areas
  • 1st Floor Copier Room
  • 2nd Floor Group Study Rooms
• Please keep conversations short and speak in a lowered voice.

All quiet study areas of the Library are CELL PHONE-FREE zones. Cell phones may not be used in the following areas:

• 1st & 2nd Floor Study Carrel Areas
• 1st Floor Media/Reading Room
• 1st Floor Vending Machine Area

Please check with Circulation or Research Assistance staff for further clarification.

The Library reserves the right to ask patrons to leave the building if they are using cell phones in restricted areas or disturbing others in any area of the Library.
