Air Force Portal WHAT IS AIR FORCE PORTAL? Providing "essential online resources for the Air Force at a single location," AFP is intended to: make it easier for all Air Force personnel to find information; eliminate duplication; and save money by integrating systems. WHO MAY USE AIR FORCE PORTAL? AFP accounts are available to U.S. Government Civilian, U.S. Military member or ally, or contractor supporting military efforts. Users must register first. WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH AIR FORCE PORTAL? AFP is a customizable "portal" that provides Air Force personnel with news, directory, career & life information, as well as policy, procedural, and other reference & educational content. This "e-content" can provide authorized users (including some current NPS personnel and some alumni) with access to licensed information not available through the free web. WHERE IS THE LICENSED CONTENT? Under the "Library" tab, click on Reference Center. Then scroll down to "Databases." Army Knowledge Online What is Army Knowledge Online? The Army's Enterprise Portal, Army Knowledge Online (AKO), is a primary component of the Army Knowledge Management (AKM) strategy and The Army Transformation. WHO MAY USE Army Knowledge Online? AKO accounts are available to U.S. Army or DA personnel. A Foreign Officer (attached to U.S. Army) may arrange for a sponsored account. Users must register first. WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH Army Knowledge Online? Navy Knowledge Online What is Navy Knowledge Online? At the top of the Chief of Naval Operations' Top Five Priorities Status Report list is manpower. The Navy has voiced a commitment to education and learning in order to empower Naval personnel to excel professionally and personally. Navy Knowledge Online (NKO), as a portal for Navy career management, personal development, leadership and learning came out of that commitment. Who may use Navy Knowledge Online? NKO accounts are available to Navy and Marine Corps: Active, Reserve, Civil Service, Delayed Entry Personnell, Navy Academy Midshipmen, Retired and Retired Reserve. Users must register first. What can you do with Navy Knowledge Online? NKO is intended as "portal" site for Naval Personnel which can be customized for displayed content, based on rank, NEC, duty station, time in service, and other data, according to the site. NKO includes Navy career tools, leadership resources and reference materials for educational purposes. The REFERENCE tab includes a collection of "eContent" which can provide valuable additional resources for NPS students for their research. Many of these sources are not available via the free web. To use them you must first register for NKO and log in. Where is the licensed content? Click the tab on the far right of the NKO page marked "Reference" to access licensed content, including full-text databases not otherwise available to NPS students. A column on the left sorts the available content into general areas of interest such as "Econtent - Engineering" and "Econtent - Genealogy" and "Econtent - Kids". Content includes downloadable audio books, music and eBooks, as well as useful content drawn from the free web. Covers the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and other subjects. AncestryDatabase via ProQuest Find census, birth, marriage, death records and more in full text. Includes photos, maps, charts and forms. A source intended for Genealogical research. Auto Repair Reference Center via EBSCO Auto Repair Reference Center contains information on most major manufacturers of domestic and imported vehicles, with repair information for more than 33,800 vehicles covered from 1945 to present.
