General:
How can I get an account on HPC resources?
- This depends on which cluster you'd like to setup an account on. You may put in your request by filling out the cluster account request form. Your completed form will be forwarded to the requested cluster owner for access approval.
How do I access the cluster from my workstation?
- The easiest way to access any of the clusters is through Humming Bird Exceed software, which is available on all the school's computer labs.
- If you wish to access the cluster from home, you must first log on VPN then run your virtualization software or putty. Other virtualization software includes Win-X32 and VMware. The school doesn't provide any virtualization software for home use so you purchase a copy of your own.
How do I find programs on the cluster?
- All of our cluster software is installed in the shared /opt directory. Please email HPC for more information on software access.
How do I transfer files to my account on the cluster?
- You can transfer files to your account on the cluster via a secure ftp client. For example, WinSCP.
How do I change my password?
- Log in to the cluster you wish to change your account password on
- Open a terminal Window
- Type 'passwd'
