no longer be displayed on this site.
Arriving
By Air: Monterey is serviced
by 3 major airlines, to include United Airlines,
America Airlines and Delta.. All flights
arriving in Monterey connect through either
San Francisco, Los Angeles or Salt Lake
City.
Taxis:
Persons taking a taxi should direct
the driver to take them to "NPS".
Note:
Due to heightened security requirements,
taxis are not allowed on base.
The driver can only drop you at the Del Monte Gate entrance to NPS.
Rental
Cars: All rental car
companies, except Enterprise, are located
in the airport terminal building. Follow
the exit signs to "Garden Road".
Turn right on Garden Road. Turn Left on
Mark Thomas Drive. Turn right on to Sloat
Avenue, then right into NPS at the 3rd Street
Gate, or continue to Del Monte Avenue, turn
right and then the Del Monte Gate entrance
will be on the right.
Arriving
By Car From:
San
Francisco - Take Hwy 101
South to Prunedale, then Hwy 156 West/MontereyPeninsula. Take Hwy 1 South to Monterey.
Take the Del Monte/Pacific Grove exit, drive
for approximately 7 blocks. NPS is on your
left.
Sacramento
- Take I-5 South to Hwy 152 West
to Hwy 156 West/MontereyPeninsula.
Take Hwy 101 South to Prunedale, then Hwy
156 West/MontereyPeninsula. Take Hwy 1 South. Take the
Del Monte/Pacific Grove Exit, drive for
approximately 7 blocks. The Del Monte Gate entrance is on your left.
Fresno
- Take Hwy 99 North to Hwy 152/33 West
to 156 West/MontereyPeninsula. Take
Hwy 101 South to Prunedale, then Hwy 156
West to Hwy 1.
Take Hwy 1 South to Monterey. Take the Del
Monte/Pacific Grove Exit, drive for approximately
7 blocks.The Del Monte Gate entrance is on your left.
Bakersfield
- Take I-5 to Hwy 46 West
to Hwy 101 North to Salinas. Take Hwy 68
West (Monterey
Peninsula Exit) to Airport Road. Right on
Airport Road, then left on Garden Road.

Angeles - Take I-5 North
to Hwy 46 West to Paso Robles. Take Hwy
101 North to Salinas, then Hwy 68 West (Monterey
Peninsula Exit) to Airport Road. Right on

Santa
Barbara - Take Hwy 101 North
to Salinas, then Hwy 68 West (Monterey Peninsula
Exit) to to Airport Road. Right on Airport
Road, then left on Garden Road. Follow directions

Salinas
- From California Hwy-101 take
Monterey Exit at Sanborn Place. Go west
on Sanborn which will become Blanco Road.
Turn left at South Main Street intersection,
which is California Hwy-68 south (and pick
up with number 4 below), or you may continue
on Blanco Road all the way to Reservation
Road (a few miles) where you'll turn right
and head west toward the town of Marina.
From Reservation Road in Marina you'll turn
left on Del Monte Blvd which will merge
with California Hwy-1 south. If you opted
to take Highway-68 to Monterey from Salinas,
just follow the highway south until it merges
with Highway-1. At the merge, take the Highway-1
southbound ramp but stay in the right lane
of the ramp which will feed you right onto
the Monterey Exit. Pick up with number 6
below. Once on Highway-1 southbound, take
the Monterey Exit, which is just beyond
the Route-68 Exit, and merge into the right
lane of the two-lane exit ramp. Toward the
end of the ramp there will be another lane
for right turns only. Continue merging right
into this turn-only lane. The other lanes
will have a traffic light but this turn
lane will have a stop sign. This will be
the Aguajito Road intersection and you'll
turn hard right (almost reverse direction)
onto 10th Street. As you make the turn you'll
initially be heading back north on 8th Street,
but continue turning right onto 10th. Follow
10th Street to the stop sign at Sloat Ave
and the entrance to NPS will be straight
across from you at that intersection with
Sloat Ave.
Carmel
- Take California Highway-1 north
to the Aguajito Road Exit in Monterey. Turn left on to Sloat Avenue,
then right into NPS at the 3rd Street Gate, or continue to Del Monte Avenue, turn right and then the Del Monte Gate entrance will be on the right.
