Navy Student Leave Procedure
Electronic Procedure for U.S. Navy Leave

Note:  Complete Step 1 concurrently with Steps 2 through 6.  Do not wait for approval of your electronic request to miss muster (Step 1) before submitting your leave form (Step 2).

  1. Fill out and submit the Request to Miss Muster. If approved, you will receive an email authorizing you to miss muster. If you do not receive this email, you are not authorized to take leave/liberty/tdy.
  2. Click on Leave Form to open.
  3. Fill out the appropriate blocks (1-22) on the Leave Form. Double click on shaded blocks to make entries. Click on "Checked" in the Default Value Box to add an "X".
  4. If no classes are missed, then annotate in the Remarks Section: "I will not miss any classes" . "My Program Officer approves of the missed classes" should be annotated in the Remarks Section if missing classes and Program Officer approval of the request is required.
  5. Save your Leave Form on your computer. Send it to studentleave@nps.edu .  As a reminder, all students need Program Officer permission to miss any classes.
  6. You should receive your leave request via e-mail with a LCN within two working days.
  7. Sign out and in from leave in blocks 27 and 28 and return the Leave Form to the Student Services Office within 5 days of returning from leave.
  8. If leave is not taken after a LCN has been assigned, you must notify DOSS here. Return the leave paper to your Student Services Office.

Note: Failure to turn your leave form in within 5 days of returning from leave will result in Leave being automatically charged for the entire leave period.
